The decanter’s traditional feathered paint design, its distinctive cobalt blue color, and the tequila’s original flavor make it an icon of the Clase Azul family.

Made from organic Tequilana Weber Blue Agaves which are grown for over 9 years before slow cooking in traditional ovens. The fermentation is done using the company’s secret blend of yeasts, and then comes distillation followed by triple filtration. It is masterfully aged for eight months in bourbon barrels, and is bottled in these tall, handsome traditional ‘Talavera’ decanters. This exceptionally smooth tequila is recognized worldwide as one of the best reposados.

Gold colour with yellow and bright reflections, the aroma brings agave syrup, vanilla, candied orange peel, and American oak. Light notes of cinnamon and banana. Hazelnut, vanilla, cloves, cinnamon. Pair with grilled meats and vegetables, melon with serrano ham and dark chocolate.

The magic of Clase Azul is not limited to the quality of its tequila. Its beautiful ceramic decanters (about 38cm high) are molded and decorated entirely by hand by communities of Mexican artisans, making each one of them a unique piece. Clase Azul’s incredible Reposado has been awarded Gold medals by the Beverage Testing Institute and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

About the Brand

Welcome to the world of Clase Azul. A unique tequila made with the heart and soul of our community of Mexican artisans. From our fertile and spectacular mountains to our artisans' millennial legacy, each decanter of Clase Azul is an artistic tribute to our roots.
Clase Azul Tequila is 100% made from Blue Agave, produced at one of the highest points in the state of Jalisco. Its climate and land properties offer a characteristic tequila flavor. Each of our agaves is grown for 6 to 8 years.
Organic agave requires approximately 72 hours of cooking in old masonry ovens. The baking gives the agave core a unique sweetness – easily perceived by the complexity of aroma and flavors. The agave core is ground to extract all the juices and begin the fermentation process, induced by our proprietary yeast. After several days, the tequila is distilled two times, having a wide cut of "heads" and "tails" to ensure our tequila is of the highest quality.
Each Clase Azul Tequila decanter is handmade, and hand-painted by our artisans in the small Mexican town of Santa María Canchesda. About 350 of our skilled workers sculpt and paint them individually, using the Mazahua people's ancient techniques. Each ceramic decanter is a one-of-a-kind piece of art that contains our ancestors' art and their millenary legacy.
