The unique combination of clay and limestone soils gives this wine a distinctive structure. The 2022 vintage features a dark purple hue, with bold aromas of ripe black cherries and blackberries, enhanced by spices and subtle toasted notes. Its deep, dense texture, solid tannins, and refined oak finish make it exceptionally well-balanced. Ideal pairings include grilled steak, game, stuffed meats, and local cheeses like Epoisses and Brillat-Savarin.

Soil : Clay and limestone

Site : Chanson owns a vineyard of 5.4 hectares in premier Cru "Les Vergelesses". The plot is located in a hollow at the bottom of the hill of Corton and its clay and limestone soil combination gives wines with a specific structure.

The Vintage 2022 : After a winter characterized by marked variations in temperature between January and February, spring started with mild temperatures. A sequence of cold weather in April was followed by warm temperatures in May but the lack of water was very noticeable and could not be compensated by the rainy storms of June. Summer was marked by several and long heat waves and the storms of the end of August were most welcome. The harvest at Chanson started on August 30 with a team of 100 persons and ended on September 13. 2022 vintage was quite generous both in volume and quality and the red wines are generous and well-balanced with an outstanding crunchy fruit.

Tasting : Dark purple color. Intense aromas of ripe dark fruit (black cherries and blackberries) mixed with spices and toasted notes. Complex and well-balanced. Deep, dense and tight texture. Solid tannic structure. Refined oak note. Long and generous aftertaste.

Food pairing : Enjoy with grilled steack (entrecôte), game, stuffed meat, and all the local cheeses (Brillat-Savarin, Epoisses, Citeaux, Langres).
