这款葡萄酒是对勇敢的加尔都西会修士们的致敬，他们于 1095 年抵达普里奥拉特，并在那里引进和种植葡萄树。1835 年，一群暴徒毁掉了这位修士毕生的心血之作，洗劫了修道院，这些事件最终导致教堂土地被拍卖，被称为“Desamortizacion de Mendizabal”。1996 年，托雷斯家族开始在山坡上种植葡萄园，山坡上遍布着坚硬的黑色板岩状“Licorella”石头。
