Balvenie DoubleWood 12 年单一麦芽威士忌的独特之处在于在两种木材中熟化。为了酿造 Balvenie DoubleWood，David Stewart MBE选择了在传统威士忌酒桶、美国橡木波本桶和大桶中至少陈酿 12 年的威士忌，并将其移至西班牙橡木 Oloroso 雪利酒桶中再陈酿 9 个月。每个阶段都会为最终的单一麦芽威士忌赋予不同的品质。

传统酒桶软化并增添了精致的特质，雪利木带来了深度和饱满的风味，最后几个月在我们的酒桶中让威士忌和谐地融合在一起。甜美的水果和 Oloroso 雪利酒的香气，层层叠加着蜂蜜和香草。口感顺滑醇厚，风味完美结合，坚果的甜味、肉桂的辛辣味和一层比例精致的雪利酒。

1892/1893 年，百富酒厂在格兰菲迪酒厂附近一块占地 12 英亩的土地上建成。它最初被称为格兰戈登，以隔壁那座巨大的（已毁坏的）城堡命名。这座“新”城堡早在 1893 年就已荒废，后来被改建成麦芽加工厂。
