这款威士忌在首次装填的雪利酒美国橡木桶和重新装填的雪利酒桶中熟化。这些桶经过精心挑选，能够散发出经典的美国橡木风味，如香草、柑橘和甜橡木，这些风味在熟化过程中自然产生，并带有中度、甜美的余味，让人久久不能忘怀。

香气-浓郁的香草豆香味，伴有甜甜的果子露和酸橙皮的味道，以及藏在精致香草海绵蛋糕中的芳香梨子的味道。

麦卡伦酒厂的创始人是亚历山大·里德，他是一位大麦农夫兼学校教师。该地区最初的名字是“麦格伦”，取自高卢语“magh”，意为肥沃的土地，“Ellan”则取自修道士圣菲兰，他与麦卡伦庄园内的教堂有着密切的联系，直到 1400 年。几个世纪以来，农民们一直在该地区的斯佩塞农场酿造威士忌，在较为安静的冬季使用剩余的大麦。
