Escaleras de Empedrado 是智利第一款在梯田板岩地形上种植的葡萄酒，与加泰罗尼亚普里奥拉特的主要景观相似。这种地形与 Empedrado 庄园凉爽的气候相结合，后者因其地理位置优越，靠近太平洋，造就了这种葡萄酒独特的个性和品质。

这个雄心勃勃的项目始于 1995 年，当时公司第四代传人、现任总裁米格尔·A·托雷斯 (Miguel A. Torres) 开始在智利寻找板岩土壤地形（智利人将这种土壤称为“piedra laja”，即石板），想法是受到普里奥拉托和杜罗地区壮丽红葡萄酒的启发，生产出具有个性的顶级葡萄酒。经过几年的寻找，托雷斯终于在 Empedrado 山谷（马乌莱葡萄酒产区内）发现了一块合适的地形，该山谷靠近孔斯蒂图西翁市，位于智利圣地亚哥以南约 400 公里，距离大海 26 公里。2001 年，托雷斯家族获得 369 公顷土地，其中 25 公顷用于种植梯田，最高点海拔 500 米，总高差为 250 米。

当年只生产了 2,400 瓶。樱桃、浆果、李子和醋栗的浓郁优雅风味完美融合，并由丝滑的单宁支撑。精致的余味中还残留着丰富的矿物质和灌木丛的味道。这款酒明显是黑皮诺，具有这种葡萄的最佳代表的细腻、优雅和芳香。有血橙皮、异国香料和脆脆的红色水果的味道。口感中等浓郁，单宁如花岗岩般柔和。它既优雅又强劲，浓郁而柔和。
