托尔普德尔葡萄园成立于 1988 年，以托尔普德尔烈士的名字命名：英国囚犯被流放到塔斯马尼亚组建农业联盟。烈士领袖乔治·洛夫莱斯曾在里士满附近的一处土地上工作，服刑一段时间，该土地的一部分现在是托尔普德尔葡萄园。葡萄园种植了成熟的霞多丽和黑皮诺葡萄树，面向东北，从后茶树路缓缓向上倾斜。土壤为砂岩上的轻硅土，活力适中，确保葡萄树生长均衡，产出风味浓郁的葡萄。
