The A.S.W. is the first wine to acknowledge Amy Burch’s side of the family. Co-owner Amy has been deeply involved in Howard Park from the very early days. Coincidentally, Amy’s parents share the initials, A.S.W. Her father, Alex Stephen Wee, was a successful Singaporean business person; a self-made man who arrived in Singapore from East Malaysia in 1946 with 1 Singapore dollar. Amy’s mother, Annie Sheila Wee, had a cultural affinity with Red Wine due to her upbringing by French & Irish nuns as a boarder in Singapore. She still favours a glass of Shiraz to this day. The Wees came to Australia in the 1960s. Amy, is proud to commemorate her parents and the sum of all her family’s efforts in this special wine.
The A.S.W. is a stylistic departure for Howard Park, being a red blend of all Margaret River fruit, and the only wine with a significant use of American oak. Cabernet parcels are fermented in static fermenters fitted with heading down boards to maintain a submerged cap and gentle extract of flavour and tannins. The Shiraz parcels are fermented in 4t open fermenters with pneumatic pigeage and are retained on skins at the end of fermentation for several weeks. Matured separately in French oak for 18 months, before blending and then a further two months elevage in American oak after blending.
Intense blueberry, vanilla, chocolate, and dark cherry, supported by a hint of black olive and subtle cinnamon and anise seasoning. The palate is plush and brimming with powerful berry notes, intermingled with vanilla and coconut. Persistent flavours, fine ripe tannins, a lavish texture, and spice complexity have melded well to produce this opulent and luxuriant wine.
Light bodied, bright and bursting with clean, clear flavours of lime and Granny Smith Apple. Mouth-watering acidity and savoury, pithy texture draw out the palate, making it an ideal foil to fresh seafood dishes.
Made with partial oak fermentation and careful lees stirring, the De Bortoli Buttery Chardonnay achieves its hallmark creamy mouthfeel without losing freshness. Notes of peach, pineapple, and toasty oak are seamlessly woven with hints of butter and caramel, leading to a long, silky finish. "Medium straw gold with green edges. Fresh bread crust, preserved lemon, ripe yellow melon, white peach flesh, butterscotch, creamed honey, crushed white salt, roast pork flesh and a little hessian sack. Full and fleshy. There’s a touch of struck match and white quartz stoniness to give some interest and balance over lemon curd, peach melba and nougat. The finish is still crisp with a bitter herb nuance. It’s unapologetically big in style, but showing some class."

This classic Bordeaux blend (70% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec) comes from the village of Blaye on the right bank, and is certified HVE Level 3 (‘Haute Valeur Environnementale‘) for substainable farming. Brilliant, with a nice cherry red color, Château les Gravettes is well balanced, supple and silky wine. Tannins are present, round and pleasant. The finish is marked by woody notes. It goes well with red and white meats, cheeses and starters. Serve between 16 and 18°C.
Crafted from organically grown grapes from various sub-region of the Mendoza region (Lujan de Cuyo, Maipo, Rivadavia) this wine is aged for 6 months in oak (50% French and 50% American).
This superb Malbec is deep dark violet in colour and offers powerful aromas of blackstone fruit and notes of chocolate. Blackberry and black currant fruit flavours with a touch of sweet spice lead into a long lingering finish with ripe velvety tannins.

The Bargylus Red is composed of two-thirds Syrah, and one-third a combination of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Bargylus is an essentially Mediterranean wine with a surprisingly singular style. At no point does the Syrah dominate, the natural tendencies of this varietal having been suppressed by the intense terroir. Here Syrah expresses less black fruit and pepper, with a greater emphasis on floral aromas and a bias towards peony. Deep purple hue, the nose is complex with notes of spices & truffles. There is precision in the mouth with excellent balance between the integrated tannins, the elegant fruit and mineral freshness. The finish is powerful and sustained.

The 2010 Lafite Rothschild, a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Merlot, achieved relatively high alcohol of 13.32%, according to administrator Charles Chevalier. The wine is very impressive, not as fleshy, flamboyant and massive as the 2009, but nevertheless, a big, rich, full-throttle Lafite-Rothschild meant to age a half century or more.
Deep purple, with notes of white chocolate, mocha, cedar and charcoal as well as hints of vanillin and creme de cassis, the wine is full-bodied yet has that ethereal lightness that makes it a Lafite. Rich, with good acidity, precision and freshness, this is a slightly zestier version of the 2009 as well as more restrained and structured than that particular vintage. It will need at least 10-12 years of cellaring and keep for 50+ years.

The 2017 Haut-Bailly is composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. Very deep garnet-purple colored, it has a wonderfully spicy nose of cinnamon stick, cloves, anise and fenugreek with core of roses, warm blueberries, black forest cake and black raspberries plus hints of underbrush and iron ore. Medium to full-bodied with firm, ripe, grainy tannins, it has oodles of freshness and great finesse, continuing bright and energetic on the long, minerally finish.

A blend of the Bordeaux varieties par excellence, with an elegant nose, toasted notes and hints of spices imparted by oak aging. Potent upon entry, it unfolds across the palate to display great length, good tannins, lush body and a long, lingering finish. Dark ruby red core with a mature rim. Pure nose offering some mature notes, leather, cedar wood tobacco with ripe dark berries, cassis and cherry. The palate is dense and chewy, still a youthful texture, ripe dark fruit flavours a slight herbal spiciness, a dash of oak and good length. Still youthful with potential for ageing.

The finesse and complexity of a great Medoc terroir is evident in this wine, which should be decanted an hour before serving due to its very young age. First impressions are based on a deep color, delicate structure and supple tannins; its lightly wooded bouquet merely hints at the full range of aromatic expression to come. The style avoids simple excess, preferring to highlight a terroir known for producing well-knit, delicate and richly elegant wines of good breed-in short, a classic Medoc.

It offers notes of small red fruits which evoke ripe cherries and raspberries. Fresh and fruity wine with good acidity and very smooth tannins. Perfect with beef, lamb, pork, duck, game meats and cheeses.
The 2016 Figeac, crafteed with 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, was bottled at the end of July 2018, since Frederic Faye wanted to give the wine more time in barrel to develop more harmony. The stunning 24-carat bouquet rivets you to the spot with brilliant delineation and mineral-rich red fruit that articulates its terroir as well as any Right Bank you will find. The palate is medium-bodied with svelte tannin, perfect acidity, wonderfully integrated new oak and enormous depth toward the fresh, pencil-box- and cedar-infused finish. This is a classic Figeac, up there with the 1947 and 1949, both recently re-tasted and testifying to a wine that genuinely belongs among the elite Saint-Emilions. Faye believes it is the best Figeac he has ever made.
