Beautiful limpid ruby-red colour. The delicate nose of this wine is typical of Gigondas with aromas of pepper, liquorice and violet. On the palate, it offers a silky texture, very soft with delicate tannins and superb notes of small black fruit. Drink it over the coming decade.

Offering a stunning bouquet of ripe cherry and strawberry fruits, it has classic Burgundian spice and dried flower aromatics, medium-bodied richness, moderate tannins, and a rounded, supple texture that offers nicely integrated acidity. It picks up more sappy, floral notes with time in the glass and is just an ethereal, elegant, complex Coteaux Champenois that will benefit from a year or two of bottle age and keep for a decade.

A complex Japanese gin with refreshing yuzu citrus top notes and a spicy shansho pepper twist. Roku stands for ‘six’ in Japanese and refers to the six local, seasonal botanicals (sakura flower (cherry blossom), sakura leaf, sencha tea, gyokuro tea, sansho pepper and yuzu peel) which complement eight traditional gin botanicals (juniper berries, coriander, lemon peel, etc) and give this spirit a distinctly Japanese character.

Bin 2 was first released in 1960, yet was discontinued in Australia in the 1970s at the height of the White Wine boom. The original Bin 2 was an ‘Australian Burgundy’ style (despite its Rhone varieties) – typically a soft, medium-bodied wine based on Shiraz. The Bin 2 blend of Shiraz and Mataro is still relatively uncommon in Australian table wines.

Also known as Monastrell or Mourvedre, Mataro was introduced to Australia in the 1830s. Sometimes used in fortified wine production, this grape is widely planted in the Barossa Valley. It is greatly valued by winemakers for its blending attributes, adding complexity and palate grip. Interest in Bin 2 has grown as the popularity of traditional Rhone varieties and blends continues to flourish. t’s bold and dark, creamy and concentrated, with blackberried fruit, suede-like notes, clove and vanilla cream all laid on. This wasn’t bottled at the time of the annual tasting so a review bottle was sent: I opened it and promptly polished off more than I’d care to responsibly admit. It has both heaviness and heat but it swooshes through the mouth with confidence and ease.

The 2013 Dom Pérignon is a lovely wine defined by the long cool growing season. Offering up aromas of crisp stone fruit tangerine oil buttered toast pear almonds and clear honey it’s medium to full-bodied ample and seamless with bright acids and a pillowy enveloping profile concluding with a long saline finish. Vincent Chaperon recalls that shatter at fruit set moderated yields and that a drying east wind in the weeks before harvest helped to maintain the good sanitation necessary to wait to pick at full maturity.

Château La Croix du Grand Jard – Bordeaux

Château Butte de Charlemagne – Bordeaux

Sophisticated Blend Indulge in Château Butte de Charlemagne, a harmonious Bordeaux blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc. Vinified in stainless steel with controlled fermentation, this wine showcases an intense deep red color, concentrated fruit aromas, and a fleshy, structured palate. The wine has a dark color with purple hues. Gourmand nose on red fruits and hints of spices. The palate is warm and enveloping around silky tannins with a chalky touch. Full-bodied, youthful in appearance, red berries, cassis, and plums interweave cigar, violet, sweet vanilla, clove and nutmeg. The fruit is succulent with vibrancy and intensity, enriched by fine-grained tannin extraction, and lingers with cigar and smoky fragrance, finishing with a rich yet vibrant chewy palate. Match with roasted lamb and beef short ribs over the next 8+ years.

Made from 100% Weber Blue Agave – aged for 8-12 years and harvested at our peak. The liquid is double distilled, and a special selection of white tequilas is blended together for added complexity and character. The result is a premium tequila with a smoother, more interesting flavor than most on the market. The clean, balanced taste with hints of sweet fruit and pepper is perfect sipped neat, on the rocks, as a shot or in a cocktail.

For more than a quarter of a century, this Pinot Noir has been produced from fruit grown in the ultra-cool Piccadilly Valley, within the Adelaide Hills. The approach to vinification has been strictly traditional and unwavering from year to year: hand harvested, foot plunged day and night in shallow open fermenters and matured in French oak (60% new) for ten months.

There is restraint on the nose, with black cherry, dark plum and mulberry fragrances that are bright and fresh. It is light to medium-bodied yet with wonderful intensity, depth and concentration of pure red berry flavours; and fleshy, silky smooth texture that gives it a pleasing approachability. It finishes with ripe, supple tannins and vibrant cleansing acidity. Persistent and fine.

Certified Organic

Disaronno ‘Originale’ is an liqueur with a characteristic almond taste made in Italy. Amaretto (Italian for ‘a little bitter’) is a sweet, almond-flavoured, Italian liqueur associated with Saronno, Italy. In 1525, a Saronno church commissioned artist Bernardino Luini, one of Leonardo da Vinci’s pupils, to paint its sanctuary with frescoes. As the church was dedicated to the Virgin Mary, Luini needed to depict the Madonna, but was in need of a model. He found his inspiration in a young widowed innkeeper, who became his model and (in most versions) lover. Out of gratitude and affection, the woman wished to give him a gift. Her simple means did not permit much, so she steeped apricot kernels in brandy and presented the resulting concoction to a touched Luini.

Crafted from a blend of old vines of Carinena, Garnacha and Syrah and aged for 14 months in French oak (25% new). Bright dark garnet colour with purple reflections. Pure nose, ripe plum, red fruit, garrigue, aniseed, mild oak and tar aromas. The palate is ample with a nice fresh bite underneath the unctuous fruit, balanced oak, plenty of pepper and garrigue with a soft extraction and delicate tannins leading to a long and digest finish.
