Our Lore whisky is a blend of single malt Scotch whiskies that have been maturing in our warehouse, set a stone’s throw from the Atlantic shore. Our master distillers carefully select spirits from five different types of wood. These include our small 19th Century quarter casks for a velvety smooth texture, large Oloroso sherry butts for fruity sweetness and our toasted ex-Bourbon barrels for a hint of vanilla. The spirits range in age from seven to 21 years, from rugged to mellow, so each one lends its own story to the final whisky.

It is a beautiful, brilliant straw-yellow colour in appearance with a particularly fine and persistent perlage. The very thin string of bubbles are pleasing to the palate, creating that pleasant sensation we call creaminess. The bouquet is very complex and is initially dominated by notes of cedar and bergamot, while hints of passion fruit blend with floral notes of iris, acacia and orange blossom. The following aromas are characterised by obvious scents of wildflower honey and candied citrus fruits and the finish explodes with hints of pastry and bread crust. In the mouth it is clean, fresh and minerally, and the final taste is very persistent.
The herbs are very up front with this one. Peppermint, pine and pleasant grassy notes. Cucumber and melon round out the nose. All the notes on the nose swim effortlessly through the palate, the mint developing sweeter notes as it goes on. Citrus zest also pops in to say hello. A waft of smoke appears during the long finish.

Matured for an initial nine years in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks, the spirit is then divided for its final flourish. One half remains in the Bourbon barrels, while the other is transferred to exclusive 30 year old Gonzalez Byass Matusalem oloroso sherry butts before they are reunited to create this great whisky.

The Helios distillery in Okinawa Japan may be more well-known for producing rums and awamori (a type of rice-based drink only produced in Okinawa), but they been known to dip their toe in the world of whisky. Kura The Whisky is a blended malt (or as the a label says, a ‘pure malt’) produced by Helios and bottled at 40%.
Intriguing, it displays toasted oak and a touch of moss, creamy lemon and soft malt. This light bodied and the fruity blend was finished in Helios’ finest rum casks. The Kura Whisky holds a good depth of flavour and is a very pleasant whisky indeed.
KI NO BI GO Kyoto Dry Gin is a limited bottling to celebrate the 5th anniversary of KI NO BI. The name uses the Japanese for five ‘GO’ and the message 5th Anniversary –‘五周年’ is embossed into the label. GO has been tweaked to reflect the botanicals’ qualities at the higher strength at 50% ABV. Made from a rice spirit, complemented by the addition of regional botanicals including yuzu, ginger and gyokuro tea from Uji, we have modified our award-winning gin with Japanese red pine (‘akamatsu’) in the base element in place of hinoki. KI NO BI GO is made by hand at our distillery in Kyoto and is inspired by the history, culture and people of this ancient city.
KI NO BI GO uses exactly the same 11 botanicals, macerated and distilled in the same 6 Elements as classic KI NO BI, with the exception that ‘akamatsu’ (red pine) has been used in the Base Element in place of hinoki. The name uses the Japanese for five ‘Go’ and the message 5th Anniversary –‘五周年’ is embossed into the label, whose design highlights elements of the karakami pattern used on bottles of classic KI NO BI. These highlighted elements have been blocked with gold leaf from Horikin, a goldsmith founded in 1711 and located a short walk from House of KI NO BI.

KI NO TEA is a product created in collaboration with tea-grower and blender Hori-Shichimeien, founded in the Meiji era in 1879 and based in the famous Uji region to the south of Kyoto city. A number of super-premium Uji teas have been specially selected to form the heart of KI NO TEA.
Tencha and gyokuro provide intense aromas and depth of flavour with a wonderful sweetness that occurs naturally in the distillation of these superior teas. We use leaves harvested in the Okunoyama tea yard, dating back to the 14th century, and blend carefully with a secret botanical recipe used only in KI NO TEA.
KI NO BI uses juniper, orris and hinoki as its base ingredients. These constitute our gin’s basic flavour structure, and account for more than half of the botanicals used. KI NO BI includes yuzu and lemon among its botanicals. Yuzu is a Japanese citrus fruit, giving our gin a distinctive flavour when distilled. Sansho pepper and kinome give KI NO BI an oriental and spicy aroma, mainly featuring on the finish.
KI NO TEA, a sweet and delicate bouquet on the nose. On the palate, a gentle sweetness like white chocolate spreads slowly, then a distinct juniper flavour comes to the fore. The finish is long and clean with roasted green tea scents.

Made in the southernmost region of Japan, the exceptional “Kura The Whisky” is the result of careful aging in American White Oak. Finished in Japanese rum casks, its remarkable sweet aroma is accompanied by its distinctive mellow taste.
Plenty of peaty smoke for those into that, but it remains light on the tongue. The rum finish keeps a very low profile. Otherwise, I’m thinking woody pepper and plenty of grain. The permanence of the unique Okinawa islands is infused with this premium spirit. Crafted in exceptionally small quantities.
It is the typical altitude and soil that inspired the name of Duelame Chianti Classico. It is produced from vineyards planted with indigenous grapes lying at the estate’s two extremes of altitude, the lower at 420 meters and the higher one at 655, lying on lame (literally, “blades”) of land, those stratified terraces rich in mineral substances to which Lamole owes its name and which make the landscape of Chianti Classico unique. The wine we obtain is intense and spontaneously heroic in taste.
Its bright ruby red color introduces us to a floral bouquet of iris and violets, along with scents of red berries and hints of aromatic herbs. It is fresh and generous on the palate, with extremely fine-grained tannins that integrate splendidly with its tangy notes and crisp red fruit. Suggestions of underbrush linger on the aromatic finish. An ideal red for accompanying traditional Tuscan dishes such as pappa al pomodoro (bread and tomato soup) or pici with game sauces, but also – served cool – selections of rustic cold cuts, a tartare of raw meat, testaroli with a basil pesto, or even fish with various sauces.
