This pale-yellow-colour wine has aromas of apricot and flint. It fills the mouth with flavors of nectarine, pineapple, orange blossom and herbes de Provence. It is full textured for a White Wine, with a sense of weight on the palate that is offset by vibrant acidity.

The herbs are very up front with this one. Peppermint, pine and pleasant grassy notes. Cucumber and melon round out the nose. All the notes on the nose swim effortlessly through the palate, the mint developing sweeter notes as it goes on. Citrus zest also pops in to say hello. A waft of smoke appears during the long finish.
Originally released for the Japanese market, this special edition of Chivas Regal blended Scotch whisky was inspired by a trip that Master Distiller Colin Scott took to Japan. Part of the blend was matured in Mizunara oak casks, which is rather rare in the whisky world but always intriguing. White peach, toffee-coated pears and vanilla-rich cream. Subtly nutty. Floral and sweet palate, though hints of baking spices bring balance and body. Finish is packed with fruit, with a hint of aniseed hiding within.

The aroma of Four Oak is malty, smoky and warm, with sweet notes of stewed fruit and vanilla. The taste is extremely maritime, with notes of seaweed, various woods and buttercream. The mouthfeel is soft and silky. The finish is medium long, with spicy and woody notes, liquorice, smoke and salt. With an alcohol content of 40% by volume, this whisky is predestined for pure enjoyment. Alternatively, it can be drunk classically ‘On The Rocks’.

Talisker Storm was 1st released in early 2013 as a no age statement whisky, which was matured in specifically selected refill and toasted American oak casks. Spicy, mellow smoke with honeyed sweet maltiness and hints of pepper on the nose. The first taste is rich & sweetly mellow followed by a spicy heat with elegant balance of sweet, smoke & salt, and a clean, warm finish.
Oak-aged for 24 months, this shows a clear ruby red color. On the nose, the attack is fruity and floral at the same time with hints reminiscent of blackcurrants, blueberries and raspberries; floral notes reminiscent of violets and dog roses follow. This is followed by spicy notes reminiscent of black pepper, cloves and star anise. Delicate tertiary notes and freshness given by balsamic and citrus scents are also interesting. The palate reveals a nice acid-alcoholic component and the tannic texture is well present, dense and silky.

This comes from 50- to 90-year-old vines and is a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot. The 2017 Leoville Las Cases is deep garnet-purple in color, and wow, the nose bursts with beautiful blackcurrant cordial, blackberry pie and blueberry preserve notes followed by hints of lilacs, dark chocolate, cedar chest, sassafras and licorice with emerging wafts of oolong tea, lavender and iron ore. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is an exercise in elegance and soft-spoken nuances within a mouth-coating palate of almost electric black and blue fruits, framed by very firm, exquisitely ripe, fine-grained tannins and seamless freshness, finishing epically long and wonderfully perfumed.

Patron Anejo is a delicate blend of uniquely aged tequilas, all aged in small white oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months. Similar to wine making, each vintage of Patron Anejo is carefully blended to produce a smooth and distinctive-tasting tequila. Each bottle is numbered by hand and crafted from recycled glass. Carefully crafted this pours bright amber colour with fine notes of oak, vanilla, raisins and honey. The palate is smooth and supple showing notes of caramel and smoke on a long finish; this is ideal for a tequila old fashioned.

The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 year old single malt whisky has been matured in traditional oak whisky casks for 14 years, and then ‘finished’ in casks that previously held Caribbean rum. To create the ideal finish Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE filled American oak casks with his own blend of select West Indian rums.
When he judged the casks to be ready, the rum was replaced with the 14 year old spirit and the wood was put to work adding the final touches. The blend of Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Bon Bois cognacs are presented in a Baccarat crystal decanter designed by French sculptor, Serge Mansau. This in turn nests inside a wooden case enrobed in the finest, hand stitched Italian leather, and the decanter itself is sealed with a delicate leather lace and finished off with a 24 carat gold clover leaf.
Cuvee 3.140 contains a blend of 65-year guaranteed minimum age Grande Champagne – elegant, with rounded tannins, racy, full and balanced style; 39-year guaranteed minimum age Petite Champagne – soft, generous and light, imbuing the Grande Champagne with subtlety so that each develops its own notes of fruit, toast, cedar and almonds; and 36-year guaranteed minimum age Bons Bois, providing a superb balance between strength and finesse.
Excellent balance on the nose with a rare, complex vibrancy and aromatic notes of prunes, citrus fruits and delicate wood undertones. On the palate, a combination of wood and coffee is said to provide an excellent contrast between the character of the wood and freshness. The finish is long and warm with a lingering memory of dried fruit, spice, wood, flowers – jasmine in particular – and a hint of lemon.
