The Macallan Red Collection reflects our deep respect for time, tradition, and craftsmanship. It is a celebration of the rich range of reds present naturally in The Macallan—in every step of the process. The distinctive red colour weaves its way through our history, starting with the name of our founder Alexander Reid—literally “The Red”, to The Macallan’s ‘Choice Old’ range released over a century ago in 1903, through to Allan Shiach marking vintage bottles of The Macallan with a red ribbon in the 1980s.

The Macallan Lead Whisky Maker Sarah Burgess, presents a peerless single malt whisky that has slowly matured over seven extraordinary decades under the watchful eye of generations of whisky makers, until it has reached this perfect moment of maturation. The ‘new make’ spirit from The Macallan’s small copper stills was laid down in hand-picked oak casks and left to mature for seventy-eight years, making it the oldest release from The Macallan to date.

During these decades of slumber, the carefully selected wood shaped the unique character of the whisky delivering the natural colour, distinctive aromas and full flavours of this aged single malt.

The oak presentation box is crafted by hand in the UK, using the same sustainable European oak we use to make our casks. The box has been beautifully upholstered with sustainably sourced, soft scottish leather from our renowned partners, Bridge of Weir Leather.

Tasting notes: A fresh fruit medley of apple, peach and grape moving into fresh lime and verbena. Antique oak and soft leather move quickly into a luxurious dark chocolate and dried fruit sensation. The dried fruits are a balance of dates and raisins. Finally, a rich inviting vanilla cake. Warming oak spice of nutmeg and ginger open into the rich dried fruits of raisin, prune, date and a hint of almond nuttiness. The oak rich whisky is warming yet dry with powerful treacle toffee and a baked apple sweetness. A long thought-provoking finish, all of the flavours from the nose and the taste make an appearance in this finish…. Remarkable.

Ageing takes place for around 21 months in new French oak barrels, carefully selected to enhance structure without masking the fruit. The result is a wine of depth and elegance, with firm but polished tannins, layers of spice and graphite, and a long, age-worthy finish.

The wine bursts with aromas of ripe cherries, blackberries, and plums, accented by hints of violets and subtle spice. The palate is soft and velvety, offering juicy dark fruit flavours balanced by a mild sweetness that rounds the edges of the tannins. The finish is smooth and harmonious, leaving a lingering note of ripe berries. Easy-drinking and versatile, it pairs beautifully with charcuterie, soft cheeses, roasted poultry, or enjoyed on its own.

The third release in the Harmony Collection has been created in collaboration with Stella and Mary McCartney to celebrate the lush, fertile lands of Scotland that connect all those who have stood upon them for generations. This collaboration celebrates the shared values of The Macallan and The McCartney’s, with love and respect for the natural world at the forefront.

This release embraces the re-use of natural materials in its packaging, creating beauty from resources at the end of their natural lives. To mark this deep connection with the land, discarded meadow cuttings have been given new life in this presentation box and bottle labels. The presentation box features photography by Mary McCartney of The Macallan Estate. The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team have taken inspiration from natural Scottish grasslands to create this distinctive expression, redolent of warm meadows and mature barley fields, with a rich, citrus scented finish, using a combination of both sherry seasoned oak and bourbon casks.

Rich orange and lemon, honeysuckle, vanilla, coconut and ripe barley fields. Rich oak, lemon, melon, classic scone, almond and green tea. Rich, sweet, long and complex finish.

This exceptional single malt has been matured in a combination of sherry seasoned European and American oak, and ex-bourbon casks.​

On the nose are notes of rich vanilla, citrus peel and sweet oak, before baked custard, sweet green apple and vanilla are unveiled on the palate.

In the 2024 Edition, the prominent character of the whisky is rich vanilla at full strength of 52.4%.

When water is added and the strength is reduced to 40%, tropical fruit and lemon flavours step forward. ​

The wine is aged for approximately 20 months in American and French oak barrels, followed by bottle ageing. This combination brings warmth, vanilla, and subtle toast, supporting the fruit and giving the wine its signature smoothness, elegance, and ageing potential.

On the palate, it offers opulent layers of honeyed apricot, dried citrus peel, and tropical fruits, enriched by notes of toasted almond and delicate floral nuances. Its luscious sweetness is harmonized by vibrant acidity, creating a wine of depth, sophistication, and a long, lingering finish. Ideal for pairing with desserts, blue cheeses, or enjoyed on its own as a contemplative sip, this Botrytis Semillon exemplifies De Martino’s mastery in producing complex, age-worthy wines that combine richness with elegance.

Undisputedly symbolic of the Speri company, the Amarone Monte Sant’Urbano is a superb example of a fine, classic wine. It is an extraordinary wine with great complexity and a vigorous structure which has always been top for its elegance and quality. After carefully selecting the best bunches from the prestigious Monte Sant’Urbano vineyard, the grapes are left to dry for a long period (3-4 months depending on the vintage year). This creates a wine with plenty of structure and softness which will certainly age well.

Enticing scents of spiced plum, pipe tobacco, crushed mint, new leather and a whiff of smoke come to the forefront. The full-bodied, velvety palate boasts dried cherry, raspberry compote, star anise and a graphite note. Fine-grained tannins provide the firm but elegant framework while fresh acidity keeps it balanced.

The bottle itself centres her signature in the Chivas 18 blue and carries a beautiful detachable accessory with a leather strap and 18K gold plated charms. Inspired by LISA’s style, the charms include the Chivas logo and her iconic star.

The Vintage 2022 : After a winter characterized by marked variations in temperature between January and February, spring started with mild temperatures. A sequence of cold weather in April was followed by warm temperatures in May but the lack of water was very noticeable and could not be compensated by the rainy storms of June. Summer was marked by several and long heat waves and the storms of the end of August were most welcome. The harvest at Chanson started on August 30 with a team of 100 persons and ended on 13th September. 2022 vintage was quite generous both in volume and quality and the white wines are well-balanced, precise and refreshing.

Tasting : Pale gold colour. Delicate and refreshing fragrances of white flowers. Lively, brisk and precise. Well integrated acidity. Refreshing aftertaste.

Food pairing : Pâté, fish, charcuterie, and many goat cheeses.

 Deep ruby colour with purple nuances. Intense aromas of ripe black berries and black plum mixed with spices and vanilla notes. Dense and deep. Taut with an elegant structure and a tight texture. Well-integrated tannins. It is perfectly matched with red meat grilled or en sauce and all cheeses, especially the local cheeses like Epoisses or Citeaux.

Fresh grassy Semillon and stone fruited Chardonnay are complexed by French and American oak for a beautifully luscious balanced wine. This fresh zesty wine shows citrus and tropical notes balanced with a hint of oak and a creamy palate.

A bouquet of fruity and citrus notes of citron are accompanied by fine floral accents. The nose possesses both the crisp qualities of green apples and the sweetness of ripe apricots. In the mouth, rich and persistent notes of ripe summer fruits lead the way for lingering and fresh citrusy finish.
