‘Cuvée Gran Vino’ is De Martino’s finest wine, from its emblematic Santa lnés vineyard, produced in small quantities (around 3,300 bottles) and only in optimal vintages, the wine achieves the maximum expression of De Martino’s house style. Sourced from their 1.6ha parcel comprised of 3 blocks planted in 1997 and 1999 in alluvial deposits with a high gravel content and calcium carbonate, where vines are ungrafted and trained in double guyot.

After a careful hand-harvest, grapes were cold macerated for 8 days prior to undergoing spontaneous alcoholic fermentation. A post-fermentative maceration followed lasting 86 days. The wine is then racked into neutral French oak barrels for 4 months and racked again into 2,500L foudres to age for another 14 months. The resulting wine is neither fined nor filtered prior to bottling with the goal of maximizing its expression.

Description

De Martino Cuvée Gran Vino opens with pure, vibrant aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and plum lifted by notes of graphite, dried herbs, and subtle spice. On the palate it is elegant yet structured, showing juicy dark fruit, fresh acidity, and fine, silky tannins that reflect De Martino’s restrained, terroir-driven style. A touch of cocoa and mineral tension carries the wine to a long, polished finish - balanced, refined, and built for both immediate enjoyment and graceful aging.
