Bin 28 offers a showcase of warm-climate Australian Shiraz – ripe, robust and generously flavoured. First made in 1959, Bin 28 is named after the famous Barossa Valley Kalimna Vineyard purchased by Penfolds in 1945 and from which the wine was originally sourced. Today, Bin 28 is a multi-region, multi-vineyard blend, with the Barossa Valley always well represented.

Classic and dark with graphite, flint, char, black jelly bean notes on the nose. Full and expansive palate featuring an immersion of flavour saturation and a textural continuum across the palate. Persistent length and flavour, finishing firm and assertive.

Sena is the culmination of their wonderful parternship and a passionate journey. Sena is an authentic Chilean blend made from the finest Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot varieties. The Carmenere variety adds an evident Chilean personality to the wine. Chadwick and Mondavi searched for four long years before finding the ideal Chilean terroir in Valle de Aconcagua. There, they acquired 350 hectares of virgin hillside land, with grapes grown with a biodynamic approach. This is Chile’s finest premium wine.

The assemblage reflects the diversity and complementarity of the three grapes varietals: The intensity of Pinot Noir (50%), The roundness of Pinot Meunier (30%) & the elegance of Chardonnay (20%) of which 20 to 30% from specially selected reserve wines to enhance its intensity, subtlety and constancy.

Elegant ruby-red colour with shiny reflections. This wine has a very attractive and expressive nose with notes of red fruit such as redcurrant and peppery spices. Soft and balanced, the mouth has subtle aromas of spicy fruit.

Composed of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2017 Pontet-Canet gives up beautifully fragrant notes of rosehip tea, lilacs, cinnamon stick, cloves, dried leaves and underbrush with a core of kirsch, raspberry coulis, warm plums and red and black currants plus a waft of pencil shavings. Medium-bodied, the palate is refreshing, minerally and wonderfully elegant with a well-played texture of approachable, plush tannins and a long, fragrant finish. Beautiful. Aging took place in 50% new and 15% in second fill barrels and the remaining 35% in amphorae for 16 months, much of the material for which came from the soil at Pontet-Canet!

The wines of Chateau Pontet-Canet obtained organic certification from Ecocert and biodynamic certification from Biodyvin in 2010 and from Demeter in 2014.

The nose reveals predominant yet delicate aromas of fresh fruit and citrus. Complex, with aging aromas of brioche and toast bread and a touch of terroir-imparted minerality. Fresh, luscious, elegant and persistent on the palate. Lends full expression to the grape, the soil and the high-elevation climate.

It is an attractive amber in appearance, with plenty of orangey highlights: its very color and viscosity seem to give an indication of its richness. On the nose, a whole series of positive and powerful sensations invite us to taste it: alcohol, oak, honey and a fresh, acidulous vein, hint at its austere strength. On the palate, we find the same precise and assertive sensations we observed on the nose.

Composed of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc, yields for the grand vin in 2017 were 43 hectoliters per hectare, and it was aged in 60% new oak. It came in at an alcohol of 13% and an IPT of 68. Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Cos d’Estournel needs a little coaxing to unfurl, revealing beautiful expressions of preserved plums, boysenberries, blackcurrant pastilles and wild blueberries with hints of Indian spices, menthol, lilacs and mossy tree bark plus a compelling suggestion of iron ore. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a solid backbone of firm, grainy tannins and well-knit freshness supporting the tightly wound blue and black fruits layers, finishing long and fragrant. This wine will need a good 5-7 years in bottle before it begins to blossom and should go on for at least another 40 years. I expect this wine to be a blockbuster of a head-turner when I come back and taste it at 10 years of age!

This wine is crafted from Merlot vines planted in our vineyards in 1997, along with a small percentage of Petit Verdot, a variety we have been cultivating since 2006. The name "3055" is a nod to Jean Leon’s New York cab license number, revealing the man behind the legend: an idealist who rose from humble beginnings to achieve his dream of opening the most famous restaurant in Hollywood and creating his own namesake wine.

This wine is aromatic, elegant, seductive, velvety, and contemporary, made from Merlot and Petit Verdot grown in organic vineyards. It boasts a very intense nose and a medium-bodied, balanced palate with pronounced notes of red fruit and spices. Enjoy its long, lingering finish..

Bright ruby color. Fragrances of peony on greedy aromas of red fruits, spices and fine woody notes. The attack is frank, with a very fine aromatic expression. A blend of 86% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc, the 2017 Chateau Clos Fourtet comes all from the upper limestone plateau and spent 18 months in 60% new French oak. This deep ruby/purple-hued effort offers a rocking perfume of ripe black raspberries, cassis, crushed stone, chocolate, and flowery incense. Powerful, full-bodied, and concentrated on the palate, it’s beautifully done, has ripe, present tannins, and a great finish. It ranks with the gems in this solid vintage and will benefit from just short-term cellaring and cruise for 20-25 years or more in cold cellars.
