The Vintage 2022 : After a winter characterized by marked variations in temperature between January and February, spring started with mild temperatures. A sequence of cold weather in April was followed by warm temperatures in May but the lack of water was very noticeable and could not be compensated by the rainy storms of June. Summer was marked by several and long heat waves and the storms of the end of August were most welcome. The harvest at Chanson started on August 30 with a team of 100 persons and ended on 13th September. 2022 vintage was quite generous both in volume and quality and the white wines are well-balanced, precise and refreshing.

Tasting : Pale gold colour. Delicate and refreshing fragrances of white flowers. Lively, brisk and precise. Well integrated acidity. Refreshing aftertaste.

Food pairing : Pâté, fish, charcuterie, and many goat cheeses.

Matured for 12 months in fine lees in a mix of tanks and barrels, the Chablis Mont de Milieu 1er Cru has a tensile, mineral-driven, malic bouquet that you would assume derives from a much cooler growing season. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. This is a Chablis that is cool, calm, and collected, displaying fine harmony and precision toward the persistent finish.

Deep ruby in colour with purple reflections and a broad and bright ochre rim. On the nose, an inviting bouquet of fine wild berries, a hint of currants, floral nuances, some nougat, and lime. The palate is juicy and elegant, with fine fruit expression, a core of fresh acidity, ripe integrated tannins and notes of red cherries on a saline-mineral finish. Harmonious, one of the great Spanish classics.

The grapes, hand-selected and chilled overnight, are whole cluster pressed and the decanted must is then transferred to French oak barrels for fermentation, with a new wood percentage varying between 5% and 20%. After alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation follows to balance the acidity and provide greater roundness. The wine matures on fine lees until bottling, scheduled for the summer following the harvest.

The aromatic profile is complex and refined, with notes of caramelized pear, ripe apple, and apricot blending with hints of melon, yellow plum, and vanilla spices. On the palate, prominent mineral freshness and fruit richness lead to a long and harmonious finish.  Excellent pairing with pizzas with intense flavors, tasty risottos, or white meats with aromatic sides.

This is a genuine ‘wow’ wine – you could be forgiven for thinking you were in the grand climats of Burgundy when tasting it.  Fine and precise with fresh sugar snap pea and fennel, white nectarine and a hint of struck match. There is tension and length on the palate with classic Tolpuddle Vineyard acidity and fine, chalky texture adding complexity and interest. A lesson in elegance and restraint.

A bouquet of fruity and citrus notes of citron are accompanied by fine floral accents. The nose possesses both the crisp qualities of green apples and the sweetness of ripe apricots. In the mouth, rich and persistent notes of ripe summer fruits lead the way for lingering and fresh citrusy finish.

Torresella Pinot Grigio is a great example of the classic Northern Italian grape variety that displays a delicate fragrance of spice leading to a mellow, well balanced palate. A dry White Wine with a straw yellow hue. It stands out for its finesse and its persistence on the nose and palate.

Long mineral finish. A superb Chablis with great character.

This pale-yellow-colour wine has aromas of apricot and flint. It fills the mouth with flavors of nectarine, pineapple, orange blossom and herbes de Provence. It is full textured for a White Wine, with a sense of weight on the palate that is offset by vibrant acidity.

A fine string of bubbles is your first indication of the quality of this Prosecco. A classic bubbly, soft, with a creamy fruitiness, delicately aromatic, with hints of white florals, toast and candied lemon. Perfectly balanced and decidedly appealing. This wine is great as an aperitif or with dry sweets and soft cheeses.

This comes from 50- to 90-year-old vines and is a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot. The 2017 Leoville Las Cases is deep garnet-purple in color, and wow, the nose bursts with beautiful blackcurrant cordial, blackberry pie and blueberry preserve notes followed by hints of lilacs, dark chocolate, cedar chest, sassafras and licorice with emerging wafts of oolong tea, lavender and iron ore. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is an exercise in elegance and soft-spoken nuances within a mouth-coating palate of almost electric black and blue fruits, framed by very firm, exquisitely ripe, fine-grained tannins and seamless freshness, finishing epically long and wonderfully perfumed.

Reserva Real was created after his majesty King Don Juan Carlos visited the winery in 1995, and was treated to one of the most exclusive and limited production wines in Spain. It’s difficult – almost impossible – not to fall head over heels in love with this rare, multi-award-winning wine. The blend is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. Only about 2,000 bottles are made from the vineyard in Medlona, Alt Penedes each year. What is so special about the vineyard is the atypical slate soil, which pushes and enhances the ripeness and concentration of the fruit. The wine undergoes 30 days of skin contact and is aged for eighteen months in new French oak.

Intense mahogany red with hints of russet. Its aroma can be identified by its great aromatic intensity, with notes from its long ageing in new oak (liquorice, spices, vegetation), complemented with lactic notes and those of jam. On the palate this wine is characterised by a lush attack, good body and concentration that befit a wine that’s perfect for laying down. Its tannins are sweet and well-structured and it has a long, elegant finish.
