The Vintage 2022 : After a winter characterized by marked variations in temperature between January and February, spring started with mild temperatures. A sequence of cold weather in April was followed by warm temperatures in May but the lack of water was very noticeable and could not be compensated by the rainy storms of June. Summer was marked by several and long heat waves and the storms of the end of August were most welcome. The harvest at Chanson started on August 30 with a team of 100 persons and ended on 13th September. 2022 vintage was quite generous both in volume and quality and the white wines are well-balanced, precise and refreshing.

Tasting : Pale gold colour. Delicate and refreshing fragrances of white flowers. Lively, brisk and precise. Well integrated acidity. Refreshing aftertaste.

Food pairing : Pâté, fish, charcuterie, and many goat cheeses.

This is a beautiful rose with pale fruit, fresh and balanced. The fruit is crunchy on the nose (clementine). Intense freshness and great aromatic elegance in this blend – a wine of gluttony and pleasure. At the same time mineral, lively, complex, and elegant.

Thanks to the acquisition of vines planted at a place called in Pontet and the chai built in Fumet, Roger Bardet developed the first cuvées of the Pontet-Fumet castle in 1962. His grandchildren, today watch over this beautiful inheritance located in the appellation of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru: a magnificent terroir by the Dordogne from South to West Graves.Sporting a beautiful dress with garnet and ruby reflections, Château Pontet-Fumet reveals a complex and elegant nose.Silky and generous on the palate, its dense and balanced structure asserts itself by a good length.

Beautiful limpid ruby-red colour. The delicate nose of this wine is typical of Gigondas with aromas of pepper, liquorice and violet. On the palate, it offers a silky texture, very soft with delicate tannins and superb notes of small black fruit. Drink it over the coming decade.

Bright salmon pink in colour, with on the nose fresh cherries, strawberries, and peaches with subtle hints of minerals. Light in body, with fruity notes of ripe red berries and stone fruit, hints of stoney minerals on the mid-palate and perfect, medium-plus acid structure. A ripe, ample, and balanced mouthfeel of great delicacy. Pure and tasty with a fine bitterness on the finish. This lovely organic rose will go wonderfully with sea bream ceviche or black olive bread. 

A pleasureful, festive wine, to be enjoyed as an aperitif or around a light and summer meal with beautiful Mediterranean fish, light salads, or a varieties of BBQ dishes.

This “vin de pays” results from vines planted on the most beautifully managed soils close to the area of the Loire castle, Touraine. Aged in stainless steel, it display a beautiful freshness in mouth, a frank attack, delicate green and lemon flavours, citrus fruits, green apple and kiwi aromas. The minerality gives a long finish to the wine, a smoothness and elegance.

Very pleasant with or without food,in particular with seafood, asparagus, roasted fish and goat’s milk cheese. To be served at 10-11a°C.

Technical Director Thomas Duroux and his team made one of the most brilliant wines of the 2016 vintage. Palmer is simply exceptional.  Crafted with 47% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Petit Verdot, this is rich and dramatically sweeping in the glass, the 2016 is breathtaking. All the elements simply fall into place in a wine of mesmerizing beauty. The counterpoint of dark, sumptuous fruit and floral notes makes for an utterly compelling Palmer that will take its place among the estate’s finest vintages. This beautiful wine with a lemon-yellow color with clear and brilliant reflections, demonstrates a beautiful aromatic intensity. The tangy flesh of this white makes it very delicious. Brightly lemony with a slight fat, it is marked by pleasant anise flavors. This white opens with juicy notes of pear, candied lemon (tart) and a mineral touch (flint). On the palate it shows a beautiful amplitude with a lively and tasty balance. Superb minty finish marked by beautiful flavors of ripe white fruits (vine peach).  This prestigious white, bold and supple, goes just as well with a truffle scramble as with refined and classic gourmet cuisine, foie gras for example.

The 2016 Le Clarence de Haut-Brion is another second wine that tastes more like a grand vin. Made from 51.3% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it too is deeply colored and has a classic Haut Brion bouquet of minerals, crushed rocks, cassis, graphite, and violet. With medium to full-bodied richness, good concentration, building tannins, and impeccable balance, it’s more supple and sexy that it’s big brother yet still has the balance, structure, and depth to keep for two decades. It’s a stunning wine in its own right.

2005 was an exceptional vintage, and Chateau Croizet-Bages display its great potential. The wine has a dark ruby color, with aromas of ripe blackcurrant and some notes of spice on the nose. Good volume in the mouth, excellent material, rich, with beautiful tannins.

Bright ruby color. Fragrances of peony on greedy aromas of red fruits, spices and fine woody notes. The attack is frank, with a very fine aromatic expression. Beautiful energy on a supple texture and well-integrated tannins. Good length with spicy notes.  A great classic Burgundy, ideal with braised or roasted meats or a brioche sausage

Premium White Wine is a Côtes de Provence with exotic and amazing aromas of pineapple, rhubarb, honey and cream. It shows a great depth and a lot of freshness during the tasting. A nice complexity is to be emphasised with smoked notes and grilled almonds. The Rolle varietal (also called Vermentino) bring a lot of structure and minerality to that amazing wine.
