Pomino Pinot Nero features a delicate, floral, fruity bouquet accompanied by well-balanced, spicy notes. It impact with its elegant, bright ruby red colour and reflections of subtle garnet. Its bouquet is an explosion of red currants and berries together with sweet, spicy notes reminiscent of cinnamon, ginger and juniper. With time, balsamic notes emerge, finishing off with aromas of leather, coffee beans and cocoa powder. On the palette, fruity and liquorice flavours are present, accompanied by velvety tannin scents. Thanks to the favorable soil and climate, Chianti Castiglioni reflects its lands characteristics as a soft, pleasantly fruity wine noted for its strong and well defined personality. Deep ruby red with scarlet hues typical of younger wines. The nose is intensely fruity, with notes of cherry, wild strawberry and blackberry alongside Mediterranean floral and herbal scents.

Soil : Clay and limestone

Site : Chanson owns a vineyard of 5.4 hectares in premier Cru "Les Vergelesses". The plot is located in a hollow at the bottom of the hill of Corton and its clay and limestone soil combination gives wines with a specific structure.

The Vintage 2022 : After a winter characterized by marked variations in temperature between January and February, spring started with mild temperatures. A sequence of cold weather in April was followed by warm temperatures in May but the lack of water was very noticeable and could not be compensated by the rainy storms of June. Summer was marked by several and long heat waves and the storms of the end of August were most welcome. The harvest at Chanson started on August 30 with a team of 100 persons and ended on September 13. 2022 vintage was quite generous both in volume and quality and the red wines are generous and well-balanced with an outstanding crunchy fruit.

Tasting : Dark purple color. Intense aromas of ripe dark fruit (black cherries and blackberries) mixed with spices and toasted notes. Complex and well-balanced. Deep, dense and tight texture. Solid tannic structure. Refined oak note. Long and generous aftertaste.

Food pairing : Enjoy with grilled steack (entrecôte), game, stuffed meat, and all the local cheeses (Brillat-Savarin, Epoisses, Citeaux, Langres).

A vibrant deep crimson hue with remarkable clarity. The aroma reveals an abundance of dark berries, beautifully intertwined with rich chocolatey oak notes. These enticing scents lead into a generous palate, where the fruit, oak, and smooth tannins create a lasting finish with excellent length and structure.

Great intensity of color. Its aromas powerfully express the character of the Carmenere varietal (forest fruits, eucalyptus, and leather), with notes of torrefaction – laurel and clove – licorice and black pepper. Great fullness on the palate and robust tannins. Retro-nasal aromas of toasted bread and spices ending in a long finish.

The wine is matured for around 14 months in predominantly French oak barrels, adding structure and complexity while preserving freshness. Magnificent shiny red colour with carmine undertones. Powerful and complex, the nose reveals a superb aromatic bouquet with aromas of very ripe red fruit, combined with notes of chocolate, tobacco and undergrowth. Generous and silky, the palate opens with a soft and round attack before revealing its elegant tannic structure, perfectly well balanced and very harmonious. A refined wine with remarkable harmony, a sign of great maturity in this particularly hot and dry vintage.

Pipe tobacco, spiced plum, menthol, and blue flowers are some of the aromas you’ll find in this enveloping wine. Full-bodied and savoury, the structured, generous palate combines muscle and finesse, doling out fleshy morello cherry, raspberry jam, liquorice, and a dollop of vanilla alongside velvety tannins. It’s already approachable but will age well for several years or more.

On the palate, Warre's Bottle Aged LBV Port is full-bodied and velvety, showcasing concentrated flavors of rich fruit, balanced by well-integrated tannins and a long, smooth finish. The wine's structure and finesse make it an excellent choice for enjoying on its own or paired with a variety of dishes, including cheeses, chocolate desserts, and roasted meats.

Deep-red colour with purple undertones. Both subtle and of great aromatic richness, the nose reveals a very nice balance between the maturity and freshness of the fruit and superb notes of fresh fruit and spices. Very elegant, ample and silky on the palate, it opens up with a spicy attack with aromas of “garrigue” then reveals, as on the nose, a perfect balance between its beautiful tannic richness and its delicate roundness. The very long finish suggests great potential.

The 'Otima' Colheitas Port 2013 offers a rich and inviting bouquet with aromas of dried fruits, nuts, and spices. On the palate, it reveals layers of flavor, including notes of caramel, figs, toasted almonds, and a touch of citrus zest. The extended barrel aging imparts a smooth and velvety texture, balanced by a lively acidity that adds freshness and length to the finish. 

For more than a quarter of a century, this Pinot Noir has been produced from fruit grown in the ultra-cool Piccadilly Valley, within the Adelaide Hills. The approach to vinification has been strictly traditional and unwavering from year to year: hand harvested, foot plunged day and night in shallow open fermenters and matured in French oak (60% new) for ten months.

There is restraint on the nose, with black cherry, dark plum and mulberry fragrances that are bright and fresh. It is light to medium-bodied yet with wonderful intensity, depth and concentration of pure red berry flavours; and fleshy, silky smooth texture that gives it a pleasing approachability. It finishes with ripe, supple tannins and vibrant cleansing acidity. Persistent and fine.
