Plymouth Gin is the oldest working gin distillery in England, using the same recipe since 1793. The rich and smooth taste of Plymouth Gin is the result of a balanced blend of seven hand-selected botanicals: coriander seed, orange peels, lemon peels, angelica root, green cardamom, orris root, and of course juniper. From deep earthy notes to wonderfully fresh juniper and a lemony bite, Plymouth Gin Original’s great depth of flavour is just one of the reasons it’s truly unique.

Plymouth Gin is the oldest working gin distillery in England, using the same recipe since 1793. The Black Friar’s building, where the distillery is, dates back to the early 1400s. The most intact part of the distillery is the Refectory Room, a medieval hall with a fine hull-shaped timber roof built in 1431. It’s one of the oldest buildings in Plymouth, and protected as a precious national monument. Not least because it’s now also an important centre of excellence for gin cocktail making. Blackfriars Distillery is also 100% powered by hydroelectricity and in addition Botanical waste is converted to Methane and used as a form of sustainable energy.
