Tenuta Nipozzano is a prestigious wine estate nestled in the heart of the Chianti Rufina region in Tuscany, Italy. Owned by the renowned Frescobaldi family, the estate has a rich history dating back over 1,000 years, making it one of the oldest wine-producing estates in Italy.

Located in the picturesque hillsides east of Florence, the vineyards of Tenuta Nipozzano benefit from the region's unique microclimate and diverse soils, which lend complexity and character to the estate's wines. According to popular belief Nipozzano means ‘without a well’ – testimony to the area’s lack of water and ideal circumstances for the cultivation of grapevines. The first documentation about the renowned wines of Nipozzano dates from the Renaissance when great artists such as Donatello and Michelozzo Michelozzi regularly purchased wine from the estate.

Oak-aged for 24 months, this shows a clear ruby red color.  On the nose, the attack is fruity and floral at the same time with hints reminiscent of blackcurrants, blueberries and raspberries; floral notes reminiscent of violets and dog roses follow. This is followed by spicy notes reminiscent of black pepper, cloves and star anise. Delicate tertiary notes and freshness given by balsamic and citrus scents are also interesting. The palate reveals a nice acid-alcoholic component and the tannic texture is well present, dense and silky.
