Ca' Del Bosco 'Maurizio Zanella' Rosso del Sebino

The first wine bearing its creator’s signature ‘Maurizio Zanella’ on the label, proudly celebrating the passion of Ca’ del Bosco’s founder. A wine embodying a perfect blend of a territory and its style. A grand Bordeaux-like blend (50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc) with an international flair, first bottled in 1981, it is certain of a place of honor among the wines that contributed to what is generally referred to as “the Italian enological renaissance”.

Crafted from 6 separate small parcels – Ca’ del Bosco’s best vineyards – spread across the villages of Erbusco, St Martino and Passirano, the grapes are hand-picked and placed in small crates, where they are graded and chilled, before being hand selected for only the best berries going for alcoholic fermentation and skin contact, which took place in the following 21 days. After devatting, the wine is placed in small casks – 70% new oak, carefully selected and seasoned for a minimum of 3 years. Only after malolactic fermentation, by mid-winter, are the different batches racked and blended. The Maurizio Zanella then continues to age in oak for about 17 months.
