A Personal Christmas Journey

As someone born and raised in Malaysia, Christmas wasn’t a tradition I grew up with. That changed when I spent some time abroad, away from family and familiar traditions. My first Christmas was simple but special, and it quickly became a memory I treasure.

I remember putting up my first Christmas tree with friends, hanging ornaments—including a “My First Christmas” ornament (yes, the kind meant for babies, haha). We cooked a holiday dinner together and spent the evening binge-watching Harry Potter. It was a fun, lighthearted day that made me realize how meaningful Christmas could be.

That experience gave me a new appreciation for the season—one about connection, laughter, and making memories with the people around you. It’s a tradition I’ve kept close ever since.
