This Riserva has merited a name that is intended to celebrate its character: honest and straightforward, yet regal at the same time. An impeccable interpretation of the most distinctive and original elements of its zone of provenance, the area of Lamole, it is – for us – the perfect representation of the concept of a Riserva wine. Austere and refined, Lareale Chianti Classico Riserva is our passe-partout for the generations of the future.

The bunches, which come mainly from the Il Prato and Le Masse vineyards lying at between 470 and 655 meters above sea level, underwent optical berry selection. After delicate pressing, the must began fermentation, with maceration on the skins for approximately 12 days at a temperature of 24-26a°C as well as periodic pumping over and delestage in order to obtain optimum extraction of the anthocyanins and tannins. During the following spring, the wine was put into 30-50 hectoliter casks to mature for at least two years prior to the final assemblage and bottling.

A broad yet restrained bouquet, in which the fruit (fresh plums) is dappled with floral tones of violets, sylvan ones of ferns, bark and humus, and underlying hints of iodine. The overall sensation is one of total control, class and charisma. On the elegant side, showing fine balance and finesse, with a lingering finish. Drink now through 2030.

About The Brand

Since the 1800s, Lamole has been recognized as one of the ‘cradles’ of fine Chianti. The production potential of Lamole, now a hamlet of Greve in Chianti, was first discovered by the Romans, who established vineyards and olive groves on the high fertile hills. Over the centuries, the valley’s wine production became so important that Lamole was protected by a castle built by the Florentine Gherardini family in 1350. The castle’s extensive ruins can still be seen today, and its former cellars are now the location of our winery.

In the past century, as many villagers left the valley heights for industrialized towns below, small groups of dedicated artisans and farmers have tended and carefully restored ancient terraces and vines with meticulous attention to the integrity of the natural environment and the landscape. This “Lamole method” – continues today in the progressive organic conversion of the Lamole di Lamole vineyards, allowing us to continue producing wines that capture rustic heartiness and timeless character. These masterpieces of Chianti Classico pair beautifully with the most flavorful of traditional Italian cooking and inspire the gourmet spirit.

Lamole di Lamole draws its name and its character from the enchanting valley first discovered and cultivated by the Romans, and where these fine Chianti Classico wines were born. Selected from exclusive lines of grapes, shaped by the valley’s unique microclimate, and crafted in the cellars of an ancient castle, the wines of Lamole di Lamole offer exceptional flavors that complement the finest traditional meals and which only get better with age.
