Chateau Roubine ‘Premium’ is crafted solely with estate-owned grapes, coming from the vineyard surrounding the Chateau, and classified, since 1955 as ‘Provence Premier Cru Classe’ – one of the 18 estates only in the prestigious appellation, and the only of those estates being certified biodynamic. The vines are certified biodynamic by the ‘Demeter’ organization which means aside avoiding chemicals, we support our vines to be self-sufficient and stronger in the long run. The grapes are harvested at night and taken to their state-of-the-art winery where the fermentation and maturation take place in stainless steel tanks – each grape varietals individually, prior to final blending. This wine is made carefully and with great precision and this is reflected in the end-product. Dark, garnet colour with purplish reflections. On the nose, notes that are both meaty, sanguine (blood oranges) and juicy. A lightly roasted smoky touch (mocha) blends with a hint of leather. On the palate, this blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache gives a powerful, fleshy but perfectly harmonious wine. This ruby red is especially appreciated to accompany traditional cuisine: stew, blanquette and certain fish such as sea bream, sea bass as well as with cheeses.
